Scabs are new. You have never seen anything like them before! Scabs are fun fabric sticker patches. Once they are on your things, they won’t come off-not in the wash, not at play-SCABS STAY PUT!
Scabs can go on anything-your backpack, your jeans, your bicycle.
Parents love Scabs because they are easy to use no ironing or sewing is required. Also, Scabs are durable and machine washable. They do not tear or fray or easily peel off. Kids love Scabs because they are fun! They can personalize and accessorize their own things, collect different Scabs and trade with their friends.
Each Scab is made by Scabbee. He’s a friendly monster with lots of character. He eats chocolate and he is afraid of the dark. Scabbee has tons of energy. He loves to play all sports and trade books with his friends. Scabbee is always ready to play and have a great time!
Scabbee hides his picture on every Scab, so watch out for him. Scabbee hangs out with his monster friends, Goop, Cottonball and Brainfreeze.
What Size Are Scabs?
The 'Original' Scab Collection was designed to mend a hole that runs from seam to seam in a pair of pants. On average, Scabs measure 5 inches by 4 inches. This size fits on most pants, size 2 and larger. If the Scabs are too large or if you want to use them in a different area, all the Scabs can be cut however you wish. They will not fray.
The ‘Button’ Scab Collection, ‘Allergy’ Scab Collection and ‘Safety’ Scab Collections are all approximately 2 ½ inches high and 2 ½ wide or 2 ½ inches in diameter.
The Mini Monster Scabs are approximately 1 inch in diameter.
This means that the whole family can use Scabs. Dad can have a Canadian Flag Scab on his work pants; Mom can use the Butterfly Scab on her gardening pants and baby can have any Scab she wants cut smaller to give her extra protection as she crawls.
Scabs are my practical and entertaining solution to the age old problem of children wearing out their clothing before they outgrow it. The creation of GrabAScab Inc. was the result of having developed such a great solution that I wanted to share it.
My inspiration for creating Scabs came from my two young boys who continually rip open the knees of their pants. One day last fall, I purchased both boys new jeans for starting back to school. After one day of wear, and obviously a great time at recess, they both came home from school with gaping holes in the knees of their new pants. All I could think about was the money that I had ‘wasted’ on the boy’s pants. That day, I decided that I would create a way to make their pants last. I knew that I needed to make something fun that they would want to wear. That is how the idea for Scabs was born.
Scabs were created through experimentation. It took me months to create a Scab that would survive twenty cycles of the washing machine and that would hold up to my boy's tests. ‘Testing’ involved having the boys put on their hockey knee pads under their jeans and with the patches on, slide up and down the driveway on their knees. My boys loved doing the testing!
Creating Scabbee and the fun designs on the Scabs was much easier. After all, I live with my focus group! Although the function of Scabs was inspired by my boys, there was no way my daughter would be left out! All three of my children were instrumental in the creation of the Scab designs. My daughter loves Scabs so much that she has stuck up to 4 Scabs on one pair of her jeans. Her pants are a size 4-there is more Scab than denim! While my children think that I am Scabbee, in truth the characters of the monsters, their likes and dislikes, are modeled after each of my children and my niece.
GrabAScab Inc. is the result of a patient husband, energetic children and supportive family and friends. Now when my children rip their clothes, we just ‘Grab A Scab.’
I hope you find Scabs to be a fantastic solution for you and a fun time for your children.
